Hello and welcome to Science+Nature. I’m Dan, and I’ve always loved sharing the thrill of science with young people – hitting those “wow” moments when the universe suddenly makes sense. This magazine is all about capturing that excitement, whether it’s through mind-blowing images, incredible stories from the natural world, the latest discoveries shaping our future, or simple hands-on activities. My hope is that every issue inspires children to explore new ideas, ask big questions and see science as an adventure. I’m so glad you’re joining us on the journey.

‘Cultural capital’, defined by Ofsted as ‘the essential knowledge that children need to be educated citizens’, is needed for children to succeed at a broad range of studies by the time they reach GCSE level.
