The Week Junior has been inspiring children to read since 2015. Our weekly Book Club section features the latest children’s books, interviews with authors and illustrators, reader reviews and recommendations. Our Book Awards celebrate the very best children’s books while our Book Festival, during October half term, brings books to life with author events, activities and workshops for children of all ages.

This summer, we're inviting your child to join our Summer of Reading mission and discover the superpower of books and the benefits of reading for pleasure! Take a look at the expertly selected books shortlisted for The Week Junior Book Awards -– there’s something there to inspire every child.

The Week Junior Book Awards
Showcasing a brilliant selection of children's books, the awards offer parents a guide to the titles that our experts believe will help create a love of reading that will last a lifetime.
There are 14 book awards to be won altogether including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novel, animals and nature and audiobooks.
The winners will be decided by judges including the Children’s Laureate, Joseph Coelho, author and illustrator Nadia Shireen, TV presenters Ricky Boleto and Jess French, journalist Carl Anka and the Comics Laureate, Bobby Joseph.
We’re also inviting YOU to be a judge and there are two awards where your vote counts. The first is the Children’s Book Cover of the Year Award and the second is our brand new Children’s Choice Award. We hope you will accept our invitation to help decide the winners of these trophies – your opinion is the most important of all.
The winners will be announced on 30 September 2024.
