The Week Junior's Word of the Year 2026

We’re looking for your word of the year. What word sums up 2026 for you – and why? What made this year unlike any other? Was it the long summer, the World Cup, the Bayeux Tapestry, or something else entirely? Your word doesn’t have to be taken from the news. Maybe there’s a joke, a new word, or a character from a story, film or TV show that you love.

Remember, we need your nominations by 11.59pm on 25 October. After that, we’ll draw up a shortlist from your ideas so you can vote for your favourite. Look out for details in mid November on how to vote.
