Supporting young people to
engage in elections
Democracy Classroom is a collaboration between over 100 non-partisan democracy, education and youth organisations to support young people to engage in elections. They work together to provide resources, events and support to teachers, youth practitioners and young people to help young people to cast a meaningful vote.
Understanding democracy and its core values is a huge opportunity. It's a chance to inspire our children and show them that coming together, debating topics, and campaigning for what you believe in can really make a difference. Plus it's a great time to help teach them important life skills, such as learning how to debate or spot fake news.
An introduction to democracy

Learn more about the Our Generation. Our Vote - a political literacy education programme culminating in a mass-scale election specifically for young people under 18.
Exploring Elections Assembly
This 1 hour workshop and 15 minute assembly explains what the General Election is, who they key people and parties are, explore some of the key issues, and how young people can have their say.
Boost their understanding - and their confidence
The Week Junior will explain to 8 to 14-year-olds what the general election means in an accessible and interesting way. The magazine will explain the jargon, introduce the key players, explain the process of voting and break down what happens on the day itself.
